More about Akal Ki
Akal Ki is a village green, 100% clean, self-sustaining, providing a space where you can go back to simple life forms and natural living close to nature and preserving the ecosystem.
It is located in an area of virgin rainforest and 20 acres of lake front 360 meters with 2.5 hectares of mangrove biodiversity and preserving a wealth of animal and plant species.
Akal Ki is not a 5 stars if not millions of them.
We are the area of star gazing to the stars, over thousands of years of evolution. Akal Ki in the magical surroundings of unspoiled nature in perfect balance, free of visual contamination, allows the observation condition of the moon, the sky in all its vastness, as well as various cosmic phenomena such as shooting stars, comets and of course all the constellations. At night in the stillness of the lake reflects the entire universe.
Other activities available in the Bacalar Area
Additionally, all guests at Akal Ki have the choice to take tour boats, kayaks, sailboats and snorkel equipment for all aquatic activities. Boat tours in the lagoon, the swamped canals of Chaac, and the beautiful Hondo River, the natural border between Mexico and Belize, that leads to the peaceful Chetumal Bay. Excursions on kayak or pontoon boat for swimming and snorkelling in the lagoon and in some of the amazing and deep cenotes (natural sinkholes). The small tide and constant winds allow for sailing, a perfect activity in this wonderful and vast lagoon. You can also practice other sports such as trekking, bicycling, canopy rides or jungle horse tours.
